About us
Berkshire Manufacturing and it's predecessor companies were started in 1946 in Springfield Ma. The main customer was Indian Motorcycle which was located only 2 miles from the plating and polishing operation. With the demise of Indian in the early 50's the company moved it's operation and did primarily selective copper plating for a large gear manufacturing company.
After 8 years the company moved to West Springfield Ma. and did polishing and plating for general industrial customers.
With the changing industrial climate in the northeast and ever more stringent environmental demands, Berkshire rebuilt it's operation in 2003. With the loss of many large manufacturers in the northeast, Berkshire tries to serve smaller companies that need quick turnaround and versatility. Berkshire features Duplex Nickel & Microporous Chrome on a large variety of marine and automotive parts both OEM and aftermarket. Plating is done on all metals including zinc diecast, aluminum and stainless steel.
